Since I worked six days last week, I got today off. I'd planned to go by Lowes for bug spray since some creepy nasties have been crawling in my window lately. Then, swing by Sevennadah in L5P for some nag champa, candles and a snack. Then, the cherry on the day-off sundae, hit up the Farmer's Market. Always fun, but even more so on a weekday when the crowds are far less. I didn't need to go all the way to the Farmer's Market, but I wanted some key things I can only get there. Ethiopian coffee for $5 a pound. I was planning on getting two. Siracha, cheap fruits and veggies, rice noodles & fish sauce for pad thai. But alas, my plans were thwarted when I had issues finding a gas station that actually had gas. Many gas stations in Atlanta have blank price boards due to being out of, mostly, mid-grade & premium. Many other gas stations still have their price signs up but are out of gas altogether. I pulled into two stations with plastic bags over the pumps. Finally I found a station that had only regular. I pulled some crazy moves to back up to the only pump not being used (this station only had 6 pumps) and after card swiping issues finally filled up my tank for $33. I decided it'd be best not to trek all over town for things I don't really need. Instead I headed back home and stopped off at my local Publix. They did, fortunately, have bug spray. It was perhaps a bit more than it would have been at Lowes, but the savings in gas make up for it I'm sure.

Yeah, what was the deal with the ATL gas crisis? Another friend of mine there had something about gas station drama on her Facebook page. Is this a nationwide thing? I don't have a car so am out of the loop on these issues.
Things in ATH seem to be fine with being able to find gas. Knock on wood! We're at about $3.99/gal.
I don't know why I can't reply directly to ya'll's comments. But the biggest issue, I think, is people acting CRAZY! Yes, there is a supply issue. But people keep topping off & topping off, and filling gas cans. The prices are getting very high, $4.39 for regular. It's insane.
Yes, I'm guily, I topped off this morning and Jason totally did not want me to do that. I had about 1/4 tank and I put in about $25 of gas, so I'm near full. Jason will be disappointed that I joined in the "panic" However, today I paid $4.08, BUT I did not have to wait since I went to a bigger gas station down the road from the little one I always go to by my house. The one by my house was crazy.
Well, I generally fill up around half a tank, so that's not so bad as the people that top off every chance they get. Interesting that ATH folks are getting crazy too. I'm not that worried. I have a plan.
It is a bit scarey, there are gas stations in ATH that are completely out of gas. I saw 2 today. But for the most part, gas stations were not crowded today. It will be interesting this weekend, not that I'll be out and about, but it's a home game with obviously out of town UGA fans and fans from BAMA. I wonder if the gas stations will run out since there will be a lot of out of town peeps needing to fill up. I don't think this has been a problem in the past, but things are so crazy now.
